Cold, wet and windy but great achievements – 23rd February 2015

Adam Holland was off to Telford again running in a ‘How Hard Can It Be Events’ race; The Winter Railway Ultra.  Adam took second place in the 38.2 mile race, along disused railways, in 4h49m.15.2.15 b

The East Midland Cross Country race was at Trent Meadows Little Eaton this week.  It was a wet, muddy, hilly course with a freezing wind blowing hard.  Some of the knee deep puddles had broken ice floating on them.  Cross Country runners are made of stern stuff.  Adam Holland jogged round as a wind down from his Ultra covering 5.7m in 36m21s.  He was followed by Jeremy Reichelt (49m10s), Steve Needham (56m01s), and Andy Watts (76m37s).  The ladies ran 2.8m.  Kate Fisher (33m37s) was followed by Angela Brown (37m10s) representing the club for the first time and Sue Needham (37m31s) on only her second outing for the club.

Piotr Dura ran his 45th half marathon in three and a half years.  He ran the Marple Stockport trail race, 13.1m in 1h37m50s.

Cold, wet and windy was the order of the weekend but only Chris McDonnell was washed by sea spray as he ran The Great North West Blackpool Half Marathon in a fine time of 1h38m55s.
