7 members crossed the county border into Lincolnshire and took part in the Bassingham Bash 5 mile event in the sun and wind on Saturday afternoon. The 5 mile course is flat and takes the runners along quiet country lanes with little shelter from either the wind or the afternoon sun. First back was Adam Holland who finished in second place in 26:32. Following Adam were:

Bassingham Bash 2016


On Sunday Kerry and Cliff Robinson travelled to Mansfield to run their first 10k race, the Mansfield 10k. Cliff reports that there were more than 600 runners taking part in the race around the town, he found the race challenging but thoroughly enjoyed it. Cliff was first back in 53:28 followed by Kerry in 65:45

Further afield in Dorset, Stuart Ashley completed the Dorset Doddle. A linear walk from Weymouth to Swanage on the SW coastal path. This involved over 6500ft of ascent along a very scenic route. Stuart reports that it felt harder this year than it had done in the past but completed in a fantastic time of 11hrs and 15mins
