Steve and Sue Needham were on the Channel Island of Sark on Saturday for the Sark 10, an undulating and challenging 10 mile run on the island’s lanes, tracks and coastal paths. They report it was the most scenic run they have ever done and enjoyed all 2 hours and 10 minutes of it.
It was warm and sunny for the Woodhall Spa 10k on Sunday. Claire Wood ran well in 54:00, Andy Pritchett was very pleased to run it in 55:46, and Kirsty Watson got a PB of 1:07, while our other runners took it a bit steadier to save themselves for Gordon Whelbourn week: John Miller 59:28 and Julie Mumby 1h 11.
Netty Stevens ran her 6th half marathon since August, made possible by the My Guide Service matching her with guide runners for these events. She ran the RAMathon in Derby in 2h 21, smashing her previous PB by 17 minutes!
Beth Webster ran the Nottingham Race for Life 5k, her first official event. Running in glorious sunshine in front of proud parents Bob & Jill Oakham, and equally proud husband Simon, she was delighted to finish in 34:16, 3 minutes faster than her Parkrun best, to claim her first ever running medal. Claire Simmonds also took part, but no time from her yet.
It was a good weekend for Parkrun PB’s – Cliff Robinson, Martin Dickenson, Fay Paterson, Annette Taylor, Amy Lanham, Andy Rowlands, Rachel Sheldrake, and Breeze Rowlands all set PB’s at Newark, and there was also a PB for Simon Lock at Sheringham. NOTFAST is currently top of the table at Newark Parkrun, and we have 7 members who have completed over 100 Parkruns, and 14 who have completed over 50!
