28 NOTFAST members took part in Parkrun this week, with runners at Newark, Rushcliffe, and Belton House. John Miller took part in Ashton Court Parkrun in Bristol, and also Piotr Dura completed a Parkrun course in Poznan, Poland. At Newark, Stuart Hawkes completed his 50th Parkrun with his two daughters, While Ernie and Cathy Clarke crossed the finish line together to complete their 100th Parkrun! PBs this week for Gill Oxley, Cliff Robinson, Cath Hare, Sue Swain, Sarah Walker, and John Miller.

This Saturday saw the return of the Rauceby Ripper, a (roughly) 9 mile cross country course, and NOTFAST took 21 runners to brave the muddy conditions. Adam Holland was tracking alongside the leader until he stopped to replace an arrow that was pointing in the wrong direction. From then on, he was unable to catch up, and finished in 2nd place in 53:14, followed by Jim Lovett (1:12:56), Jeremy Reichelt (1:14:43), David Watt (1:14:56), Richard Borrill (1:17:28), Andy Rowlands (1:19:39), Claire Wood (1:20:43), Kim Etherington-Bates (1:22:59), Liz Walton (1:23:20), Kate Fisher (1:25:16), Cheryl Kempster (1:26:25), Chris Redhead (1:33:10), Amy Lanham (1:34:33), Rachel Sheldrake (1:34:41), Angela Brown (1:35:10), Annette Taylor (1:36:43), Faye Hemmingway (1:36:43), Fay Paterson (1:45:35), Breeze Rowlands (1:49:30), and Madaleine Combie (2:07:14).

On Sunday, it was the Colwick Woods for the latest in the East Midlands cross country league, which is a very challenging course with lots of mud and hills, and another great turnout for the NOTFAST club. This was a course where the ladies complete one lap, and the men complete 2. Diana Wakefield was the first NOTFAST lady back in 11th place in a time of 23:51. First male back for NOTFAST was Adrian Dix, with a time of 42:11. Also completing the men’s course was Damian Davies (43:00), Robert Jackson (50:20), Jeremy Reichelt (50:53), Stuart Hawkes (52:02), Jim Lovett (52:16), Andy Rowlands (53:04), Cliff Robinson (54:06), David Gill (55:21), Steve Needham (56:39), Matthew Gascoigne (58:16), Peter Middleton (1:01:46), Andy Watts (1:14:46), Andy Floyd (1:15:58), Ernie Clarke (1:15:58), Colin Green (1:18:32), and Edward Casebourne (1:23:45). For the ladies, also running were Janet Davies (26:38), Fay Parker (27:28), Kim Etherington-Bates (27:51), Cheryl Kempster (30:53), Angela Brown (31:41), Kate Fisher (31:53), Rachel Sheldrake (32:09), Lyn Gascoigne (32:22), Nikki Dale (33:08), Lisa Needham Leach (33:23), Annette Taylor (34:08), Maria Brambles (35:42), Faye Hemmingway (35:48), Kerry Robinson (36:23), Cathy Clarke (37:26), Kathryn Lile (38:01), Breeze Rowlands (38:26), Fay Paterson (39:23), Dianne Kennett (39:38), Kirsty Watson (40:35), Kate Blair (41:15), Sam Moyes (41:50), and Madaleine Combie (55:33). 

This means that the in the league standings, we now have NOTFAST ladies’ senior team in 8th overall, the ladies’ vets team in an excellent 4th, and the men’s senior team in 9th overall, with the men’s vets team also in 9th place.

To top off a busy weekend for NOTFAST, Adam Holland travelled to Gloucester on Sunday for the Gloucester 50K. Despite not knowing much about the course, he managed to complete the event in 3:26:25, coming in 11th overall.
