Several NOTFAST runners went to Belton on Saturday for the 1st anniversary of the Belton Parkrun, resulting in PB’s for Chris Redhead, James Grand-Scrutton, Claire Simmonds, and Vicky Heath. There were also PB’s at Newark Parkrun for Annie Cunningham, Breeze Rowlands, and Emily Baker-Gaunt, and Sam Moyses equalled her PB at Mansfield.

Many thanks to the social committee for organising the bacon butty run on Sunday, which attracted a huge number of NOTFAST members, friends and family. 72 runners took part in the 5k and 10k runs, and they were all treated to some fine cuisine afterwards! Full results attached.

Adam Holland decided he couldn’t wait more than 5 days after his 1000k challenge before doing another marathon – the November Nightmare Marathon in Telford. Adam was very happy to finish in a winning time of 2:58:01.

Kim Etherington Bates took on the 5k Poppy Run at Wollaton Hall, organised by the Royal British Legion, and was really pleased to finish in under 27 minutes.

Steve and Sue Needham were at Sherwood Pines on Saturday – Steve did the Robin Hood off-road duathlon, comprising a 5k run, 20k bike, and 3.4k run in 1:52:36, and Sue did the Robin Hood 10k trail run in 1:02:42.

Sunday was the day of the Rockingham 10, held at Rockingham Speedway. Unfortunately the rainy weather didn’t provide perfect conditions, but there were some good finishing times. Running the 10 mile course were Ady Dix 1:05:32 (PB), Andy Rowlands 1:26:47, and Stuart Chase 1:31:09. Doing the 10k were Lisa Leach 1:01:28, Cathy Clarke 1:04:45 and Ernie Clarke 1:04:46.

Caroline Upton was in Yorkshire for the White Rose Ultra marathon – supposedly a 60 mile route, but Caroline managed to turn it into 62 miles somehow! She battled “proper Yorkshire weather” (wind, rain, and snow) as well as lots of hills (no surprise there!) to finish in 14h39. She says never again…until the next one!
