Parkrun PB’s this week for Peter Lane, Diane Kennett, Gill Oxley, Simon Lock, Kirsty Watson, and Kerry Robinson.
NOTFAST did Mexico this weekend – Richard and Karen Borrill did a 5k run while on holiday, in support of a local charity for abandoned dogs and cats. The run was in 32°C heat, on an undulating course with water stops every 1k. Richard did the course in 26 mins and Karen 36 mins, and they are now relaxing and sipping the cocktails on a Mexican beach!
Not quite so far afield, Piotr Dura was in Poznan in Poland running his second marathon there, finishing even quicker than last time in 3:23:55. He got to celebrate his success with a glass of whiskey!
Closer to home, John Miller was in London for the Royal Parks Half Marathon, which takes in Hyde Park, Green Park & St James Park. John finished in 2:12:56, and enjoyed the atmosphere and noise which is very similar to that of the London Full Marathon.
Madaleine Combie enjoyed a lovely sunny morning at the Goose Gallop 10k at Underwood. Although a scenic course it is hilly and has plenty of rough ground, and Madaleine was pleased to finish in 77:31.
Angela Brown and Faye Hemingway completed their first ever marathon on Sunday. The Yorkshire Marathon starts at the university and runs through the city centre before heading out into the surrounding villages. It was a beautiful course, extremely well organised and with seemingly hundreds of marshals, medics, and volunteers. It was fairly flat with a few undulating sections. There was a rather mean hill from 25.5 to 26 miles! The weather couldn’t have been better so they had a lovely run, and finished in 5:15:08. A great achievement – well done!
