Andy Pritchett ran a very muddy 13 miles on Saturday at the Caythorpe Canter in a time of 2h34. David Watt and Liz Walton ran the 26 mile route in 4:19:02 and 4:54:30 respectively.
Stuart Ashley took part in the Woldsman Challenge Walk, starting and finishing in Driffield in East Yorkshire. He started the walk at 8 am in the rain, where the first 10 miles of farm tracks and muddy paths were very slippery due to the downpour the night before, the continuing rain, and the effect of 150+ runners and walkers churning up the paths. The first grassy dale was a welcome relief from the mud, but that’s when the hills started! The route profile showed 4,500 ft of ascent, but according to Stuart’s Garmin it was more like 6,500 ft, many of the climbs being long and steep. The course flattened off towards the end, but some of the rutted tracks proved tricky in the dark. Stuart completed the 50.5 miles in 16h49, finishing just before 1 am!
Ady Dix was in Manchester for the Greater Manchester Marathon on Sunday. There was plenty of support around the flat course, which he completed in a great time of 3:25:13, but says his legs need a well-deserved rest!
