NOTFAST results 19/06/2016

48 NOTFAST runners took part in the GRC Summer Solstice 10k in Long Bennington on Friday evening, a very well organised and well-supported event with over 900 runners. Bride-to-be Kirsty Watt dressed for the occasion in veil, sash, tutu and garter, and most of the other NOTFAST ladies (and some of the men!) also wore tutus to kick off her hen-do celebrations. Full results are attached, but special mention for Amy Lanham and Sam Moyses, who were running their first ever 10k’s, and there were 10k PB’s for Piotr Dura, Diana Wakefield, Adam Jackson, Faye Hemingway, Fay Paterson, Kirsty Watson, and Madaleine Combie. The most surprising result of the evening was for Gill Goode, who came along on her crutches to cheer us on, and later received a text to congratulate her on completing the course in 1h19! (Guess you walked too close to the finish line Gill….)

Rachel Sheldrake was in Derbyshire for the 16 mile White Peak Trail Run on Saturday, which starts and finishes in Ashbourne, and takes in Dovedale and parts of the Tissington Trail. Rachel enjoyed the picturesque route which varies between flat and very hilly, and finished in a good time of 3h24.

Several of our members took part in the Collingham Canter on Sunday, a well-supported local 5k around the roads and tracks of the Collingham countryside. Adam Holland set a new course record of 16:51, followed by Stu Chase 24:20, Rob Jackson 25:24, Andy Rowlands 33:31, Diana Wakefield 37:20, Britta Barnett 37:30, and Breeze Rowlands, running with daughters Abigail and Jessica, 52:47. Owen Leach, Lisa’s son, also ran the 5k in a good time of 36:46.

Breeze also got another Parkrun PB this week at Newark, while Adam Holland was confirmed winner of the men’s points competition for 2015-2016. Adam has now been first back at Parkrun 88 times!

Local Colour Runs have been providing some additional fun for our members. Enjoying the Beaumond House Colour Run last Wednesday were Adam Holland (trying out his tutu before the Summer Solstice!), Angie Brown, Kirsty Watson, Karen Borrill, Rachel Rasen, Jo Watson, Jade Davidson and Simon Lock, to name a few. Angie thought it was such a good idea she entered the Holme Pierre Pont Colour Run on Sunday too!
