Sunday saw a good number of NOTFAST runners taking part in various events.
Richard Borrill ran the Sleaford half marathon in 2h03, a testing course in windy conditions.
Slightly further afield, Chris McDonnell ran the Blackpool half marathon. Contending with sea spray and very windy conditions that reduced him to walking at times, he finished in 1:45:12. He was slightly disappointed that the technical T-shirt he received was blue and not red! (I’m sure Man-U will forgive him this time).
The East Midlands cross country series finished on Sunday at Trent Meadows where 34 NOTFAST runners encountered knee-deep water, thick mud and slippery slopes on their way to the finish line. Although a flatter course than Bramcote and Colwick it was certainly very memorable, not least due to the amount of effort required to remove the mud afterwards!
Over the 4 race series we have had excellent and determined individual and team performances. It has been a long time since NOTFAST has fielded so many in the competition, and the teams have been well supported by the hospitality committee and cake providers. The turn-out has been exceptional, with 42 runners taking part, 13 of whom have completed all four events. Well done to the women’s Vets – in top 3 finish in A, B and C teams! Full results attached.
A huge thank you from Kate and Jeremy to all runners, supporters and bakers who make up the NOTFAST team.
