A few events to report on before we get to the main event of the weekend.
Pete Tatton was in Bramcote on Friday night for the Bramcote Hills 5k – not surprisingly a hilly course (as the cross country runners know!). After a chilly wait for the start the weather stayed dry, and Pete completed the course in 33:07.
Cheryl Kempster and husband Mike walked the 21 mile Bassetlaw Bash on Sunday, a lovely event with lots of cake! They finished in 6h53, which included quite a lot of time sampling the cake!
Six NOTFAST members were in Orston for the Orston Spring Dash, a really friendly local event run to raise funds for the primary school, which also offered a good selection of cakes at the finish (which made up for the course being slightly longer than 10k!). Angela Brown 60:43, Annette Taylor 60:44, Ann Manley 60:46, John Miller (going by his real name this week!) 64:00, Colin Green 64:00, Faye Hemmingway 65:35.
Adam Holland ticked off another marathon win at the Shakespeare Marathon in Stratford-on-Avon, winning with an amazing time of 2h34.
The big event of the weekend was the London Marathon, where we had three NOTFAST runners taking part. A fantastic run for Piotr in 3h16. Great achievements too for Richard Borrill finishing his first marathon in 4h54, and Andy Pritchett finishing his 10th London Marathon in 5h. They have raised several hundred pounds for their chosen charities. Well done to all of you!
