Caroline Upton was in San Francisco for work and took the chance to “skive” off to do the Golden Gate Headlands Trail Marathon on Saturday. It is a brutal 26.2 miles of rocky trail with some 4000ft + of ascent/ descent – Caroline says it definitely felt like more up than down! She was very pleased to get round and come in 3rd lady in age group with time of 5h36 – especially following a really stylish wipe out and face plant at mile 8….legs are now shredded!
Stuart Ashley and Edward Casebourne walked the Coventry Way Challenge on Sunday, completing the 40 mile route all in daylight (just!) in 13h28 starting at 6.30 am. The route is fairly flat and was mainly dry underfoot, just a few boggy sections to contend with. The weather was better than forecast, and they were rewarded with 6 hours of sunshine!
