RESULTS 16th JULY

Peter Waller did his first trail race at Grimsthorpe.  This was the Grimsthorpe Half Marathon. Recent heavy weather made for a tough course that Peter finished in 1 hour 54 minutes.  David Watt was also there and ran it in 1hr 48 mins 22 secs.

Chris and Lyn McDonnell were to be found at Compton Verney, an ancestral home in Warwickshire.  This was for the Edge Hill Half Marathon.  Lyn describes “an undulating course with a steep hill at 11 miles”,..”the scenery was great and the weather good”.

Chris finished in 1hr 32mins 53secs that was his seasons best and put him 2nd in his age category

Lyn finished in 2hr 8mins 14secs and was 1st in age category

Kathleen Davis was in Derbyshire for the Heanor Jubilee 10k. Perfect conditions and lots of hills was the order of the day and her resulting time of 51mins 50secs put her 2nd in age group as well as 10th female home out of 124 competitors.

Great Notts Bike Ride.

Rachel and I are now Great Notts “Centurians” after completing the 100 mile event on Sunday.  As the following link confirms; the weather, the route and the roads were all very good and to top it all our photo is in the news item .  We made sure we had the correct nutrition and went at a sustainable pace so still felt good at the end.

We completed the distance in 8hrs 51 sec having stopped for about an hour in total for all the “p stops” ie  3 pees, 2 picnics and 1 puncture.

Sue and I are doing a more leisurely 140m in 4 days on the Coast to Coast route in a few days time.
