The annual ‘Derby Runner Bolsover 10k’ is organised by the North Derbyshire Running Club. On their website they bill this as “Slightly Undulating”…ask those who ran it and a somewhat different account would be delivered …lets face it, this is Derbyshire, not well know to rival Spaldings Fen for flatness.
Colin Green said that his time was ” Not too bad”, which in ‘Green-speak’ means “Pretty Jolly Chuffed”. He would have liked to have been quicker but saw that his 58.26 in windy conditions and an energy-sapping hill at 7 to 8.5k was, ….well….”Not too bad”
Wyn Thomas had a ‘good race’, but was not impressed with the delayed start leaving runners to freeze while the Loo Queues continued. This has been commented on in The Runners World Forum…though 96% said they would do it again.
Wyn did the race in 52.58
Mike Bullock came in 76th out of 768 starters and was possibly robbed of the six seconds that would have given him a sub-40 min run by the chaotic start that he told this writer about down at the Pub later on. Mike still got a very good 40.05 out of the morning though
