Steve Needham competed in the Clumber Off Road Duathlon and finished the 5K run 17K bike and 3K run in 1h53m35s which was first in his age category (M60+).

We had a successful NOTFAST outing to Clumber 10K.  Adam Holland won the race in 35m36s.  Ann Manley finished in 55m47s, John Miller in 58:37, Edward Casebourne in 66:40 and Andy Watts in 1h14m02s.

John Miller took on The Bassetlaw Bash Challenge walk to complete 27m in 7h38m.

Andy Pritchett, who is the leader of NOTFAST’s beginners group, took on a massive challenge in Wales, made worse by appalling weather.  Andy ran The Snowdon Marathon which included three major climbs.  The first was 1200ft to Pen-y-Pas followed by a mere 600ft before the final 1200ft to climb over Mount Snowdon, the rapid descent to Llanberis was no less challenging.  Andy finished in an impressive 5h08m 40s.

Another great result from this weekend.  On Saturday night/Sunday morning Caroline Upton did the 50 mile Dusk ’til Dawn ultramarathon in the Peak District.  Caroline just managed to beat the boggy moorland and race the daylight home, getting back in about 14 hours.

Jonathan Van-Tam represented NOTFAST at the British Legion Poppy Run in Lincoln on Sunday 26th.  He ran the 5K undulating and slightly muddy, cross-country course, in the grounds of Riseholme College with young son Alex in 34 minutes.

Jeremy Reichelt ran the popular Worksop Half Marathon on a very blustery day to finish in 1h57m13s followed by Steve Needham in 2h01m51s..

Adam Holland ran The Leicester Marathon in 2hrs  40mins  23secs and finished in 3rd position in a field of almost 600.

Adam Holland of NOTFAST is one of the country’s leading ‘multi-marathon’ runners.  He is churning out marathons again.  He had a great run in Leicester on 26th to finish in 3rd place in a time of 2h40m23s.  He ran TWO marathons on 1st Nov. The Pumpkin 2h59m08s and followed this on the same day with The Spooky Halloween Challenge in 3h54m30s.  On 2nd he ran The November Nightmare day 1(of six) in 3h47m00s and on 3rd he ran day 2 in 3h25m22s.  This series is being run near Telford and is continuing until six marathons have been run in six days!

NOTFAST had a splendid turnout at The East Midland Cross Country League race at Holme Pierrepont on 2nd.  It was the first time for some years that they entered two male and two female teams.  It was a great event on a lovely warm Autumn morning.  The teams were: Fay Parker, Caroline Small, Anna Fisher, Kate Fisher and Cheryl Kempster for the female entry and Jeremy Reichelt, David Gill, Steve Needham, Andy Pritchett, Paul Zemontas and Andy Watts for the male.  All ran well and will be back for more.

Four members went to The Hope Skeleton run on Friday, Halloween, near Woodhouse Eaves.  Ann Manley was scary as a skeleton but prize winning Bob Oakham was terrifying as Grayson Perry.  Liz Walton and David Watt were just scared.  It’s a super event with some outrageous fancy dress, plenty of chatting and wolf howling on the way round, and T-shirts and toffee apples at the end!  Runners had the luxury of fantastic views from the top of Beacon Hill; with miles and miles of Leicestershire spread out beneath them ablaze with a galaxy of lights.
