A race report from Notfast’s own Scarlet Pimpernel, Liz Fleuty:

Great Manchester 10k Run on Sunday 20th May.

My 6th year racing this excellent, if rather busy race! This year some 40,000 people were racing…

I had been told to run the first 6k comfortably, then increase the pace in the last 4k and finish strongly, which I did, though starting right at the front of our wave did mean I went off a little fast!

Hit 3k at 14:48, 5k at 25:09, 8k at 40:12 and finished in 49:48 – a PB for me and first time I’ve ever gone sub 50 mins for a 10k. Overall place was 5489th, so very very happy with that.
