The Notts Summer League has now finished for this year.  NOTFAST male vets. finished in 9th place (from 12) with Piotr Dura our leading runner.  David Gill, and Chris McDonnell also completed all five races.  Our female vets finished in 8th place (from 10) with Fay Parker our leading lady.

Sunday’s Southwell Swine was a great local cross country race organised by Southwell RC, it was held in the grounds of Brackenhurst College and was enhanced by a barbequed pig at the finish.  It was a family event for Anna Fisher (55m25s) who at 20 years old is NOTFAST’s youngest runner, with mum, Kate Fisher (54m40s) dad, Alan Fisher (54m40s) and grandad, Colin Green (62m11s) all enjoying the five and a half mile race along with John Miller (55m30s).  Liz Walton (104m) who had completed the National Triathlon Club relays at Holme Pierrepont just the previous day and David Watt (91m) took on the 11mile race along with Stuart Chase (99m36s) and Andy Rowlands (111m16s).

Bank Holiday Monday was wet and cold but three of our members faced up to The (soggy) Grimsthorpe Trail 10K.  Ann Manley finished in 57m15s followed by Bob Oakham in 1h3m37s and Jonathan Van Tam in 1h07m.  The marshal who was playing folk tunes on his violin helped to keep spirits up.
