Kathleen Davis went into Derbyshire to do The Carsington 7 expecting it to be a flattish run around the reservoir. – WRONG !!! Well some was on the flat but there was lots more ups and downs than Kathleen was expecting so Kathleen’s “should be well under the hour” went out the window but only just as she was only just over the hour. Her time was 60mins 21 secs, 7th lady and 60th overall out of a field of 162.

Extract from organisers website (RSPCA): –
Rain fell constantly for the duration of the race, and the field of 162 competitors faced a stiff breeze as they set off along the dam wall of Carsington reservoir. The course took them in a 7.1 mile circuit of the reservoir, and included some challenging inclines in the surrounding hills as well as some flat, fast sections nearer to the water’s edge.
